5 Skin and Hair Care Solutions from Your Kitchen


Raw potatoes: Raw potatoes, one of the most common kitchen ingredients, help in maintaining clear and healthy skin. Slices of raw potatoes help in removing dark circles. They also help in reducing the darkening of the skin. Apply them on the spots on your face and other exposed parts of your body.


Cucumber: Cucumber slices are great refreshers and their high water content is good for eyes. Slices of cucumber on the face help rejuvenate the delicate skin by providing immense moisture. They also help in skin cleansing. 

Honey: Unrefined honey has a lot of good qualities which are very apt for maintaining and pampering the skin. Applying honey on the face is very good and can effectively keep pimples away, besides adding to the glow. For dry skin, mix one tablespoon of honey and two tablespoons of cream. Apply this mixture on the face and wash off after a few minutes. It works wonders.

Lemon: Lemon is very good for the skin as it purifies and gives a warm glow to the skin when consumed regularly with water or tea. Known as a bleaching and anti-tanning agent, lemon also acts as a wonderful conditioner for the hair and helps retain the natural lustre.


Banana: Banana consists of natural antioxidants that are essential for the scalp and hair and works wonders in boosting hair growth, volume and shine. For best results, mix the pulp of a single banana with two tablespoons of honey and eight drops of almond oil. Apply on damp hair and massage the scalp spreading the mixture along the length of your hair. Keep it on for 15 minutes and then rinse it off.
