Forget expensive facials and creams. Why should we go for this time killing method when we have our homemade facial masks crafted from household ingredients?

Facials for all skin types

Brightening
Clean your face by washing in cold water. After cutting a slice of ripe papaya, remove the seeds and pulp. Rub the inside of the papaya peel on your cleansed face by focusing on lines around the mouth and eyes, crow’s feet, thinning temples, neck and hands. Let it dry for 15 to 20 minutes, before rinsing off with tepid water. This mask can be done twice a week for better result. The enzymes in papaya help to exfoliate, repair sun damage, and diminish age spots. Your skin will look brighter, with more smooth effect.
Exfoliating
Prepare thick paste of oatmeal, using less water than called for. Mix 1 teaspoon honey and 1 teaspoon olive oil. Next, add the honey and olive oil mixture to the cooked oatmeal. Use it as a scrub, gently rub it on your skin, and care must be taken to avoid the eye area. Let it dry before rinsing off with warm water. This mask can be done twice weekly.
Cleansing
For clean skin, mix 1 tablespoon plain Greek yogurt with 2 tea spoon olive oil and 1/2 tea spoon lemon oil, which is an essential oil that are available from the food stores. The mixture should be in a runny paste form but not easily poured out. Apply it to the skin and then immediately wipe it off with a washcloth which was soaked in tepid water. Do it daily for good result.

Facials for oily and blemish-prone Skin types

Lift and Tighten
Clean your face and neck first. Now mix 2 tablespoon plain yogurt with 1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice, the juice of one lemon. Apply it your skin gently. Remain it there for 20 to 30 minutes. After sometime you may start to feel like the mask got tighten on your face and neck, which creates a lifting and firming effect. Leave it on for 1 hour, if you need more face-lifting effects. After 1 hour you can rinse your face with tepid water followed by a cool rinse. This mask can be applied two to three times a week or whenever you feel like you need a face lift. This instant face-lifting mask helps you to fade age-spots, acne scars.
Toning
Brew a cup of chamomile or green tea and allow it to cool. Then take two clean, round makeup sponges and soak them in the tea and squeeze out any excess liquid. Keep one on each of your eyes for 15 minutes.
You can do this daily to de-puff, relax, refresh and energize your skin. It gives more cooling than the traditional cucumber slices.

Facials for dry skin

Soothing 
Mix 2 tablespoon honey, which is a humectant and natural antibiotic that heals and moisturizes the skin, with 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice, which helps to moisturize and balance the pH of the skin. Clean your face and apply the mixture on your face and leave it on for 20 minutes. Now rinse with tepid water followed by a cool rinse. This can be done thrice in a week for good result.
Moisturizing
Oatmeal and fennel to helps in moisturizing dry skin. Prepare 1 tablespoon ground oatmeal.  make a tea by adding 1 tablespoon fennel seeds to 1/2 cup boiling water. Allow the seeds to steep for 10 minutes and then let it cool down to room temperature. Now combine 1Tablespoon of the fennel tea with 1 Tablespoon ground oatmeal and 1 Tablespoon honey. Clean your face and apply the mixture and leave on for 20 minutes. Now rinse with tepid water followed by a cool rinse. This mask can be done twice weekly for moisturized skin.
Brightening
Mix 2 Tablespoon sour cream with 2 tablespoon honey and 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice. Clean your face and apply. Leave it on for 20 minutes. Rinse with tepid water followed by a cool rinse and apply this mask can be done twice a week for brighten and moisturized skin.
